About El Nido’s Home Visiting Program

A long-term, home-based, voluntary program for families using the Parents as Teachers curriculum to support caregiver-child interaction, caregiving skills, and family well-being.

• Services: Home visits, developmental screenings, group activities, resources, and referrals 

• Service Areas: Families in SPAs 2 & 4 

• Clients: Families with at least one child under 5 years old. We serve on average 300 families a year.

• Started: 2013 (First 5 LA); 2018 (DPH) 

• Outcomes: Improved caregiving knowledge, early intervention, resource connection  

• Funders: First 5 LA & LA County Department of Public Health
