Thank you to everyone who supported or joined us for the El Nido Junior Board’s 4th Annual Barrels & Bottles Benefit.
The event was a great success, raising over $20,000 to support our youth educational programming and provide pathways for success.
El Nido’s Culinary program students showed off their skills with appetizers, and wine tasting was led by Sean Van Straatum, Food & Beverage Director for the Oakmont Country Club.

About the Event
Proceeds go to El Nido Family Centers, a non-profit organization creating pathways for low-income families to break the cycles of inter-generational poverty, homelessness, child abuse, violence, and teen pregnancy in Los Angeles.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, El Nido Family Centers has served as an essential resource for at-risk families throughout Los Angeles. Their centers have remained open and delivered more than $2.5 million in emergency funds to hundreds of families.
About the Jr. Board
The mission of El Nido’s Junior Board focuses specifically on raising funds for a subset of the El Nido’s program activities, which is to help at-risk youth transition successfully to higher education and careers. This is particularly important during these unprecedented times: the pandemic has been challenging for all of us, and many of the organization’s clients are facing significant financial and personal obstacles
that have only been exacerbated by recent events.
During the past few months, El Nido’s workforce development and higher education programs (such as the Culinary, Business, and Tech Academies) have gotten creative and transitioned to providing a range of virtual support to its youth clientele, such as the Virtual Career Exploration Program and virtual meet & greets for those pursuing higher education.
In addition, the organization continues to provide critical scholarships and other assistance for youths either pursuing higher education or entering the workforce for the first time. Thank You to our donors for helping to make a difference for youth struggling through this crisis.
