Early Head Start (EHS)

About El Nido’s Early Head Start Program

El Nido's implementation of the national Early Head Start model offers home-based services to young families with children aged 0–3 in Inglewood and South LA. The program supports school readiness by engaging parents as their child’s first teacher and promoting early learning, health, and family well-being. 

  • Services:  Home visits by a team including Early Childhood Parent Coaches and health, education, and family specialists. 

  • Service Areas:  ZIP codes 90002, 90003, 90044, and 90047 

  • Clients:  Low-income families, including foster children and families on TANF 

  • Enrollment:  Fully enrolled with 120 families (May 2025) 

  • Started:  2001 

  • Outcomes:  School readiness, up-to-date physicals, parent-child bonding 

  • Funder:  Federal Government, US Department of Health and Human Services

Hours & Location:

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.  Office is closed from 12:30-1:30pm for staff lunch.
