Program: Early Head Start (EHS)
Annual Salary: $46,000 - $51,000
Major Responsibilities:
Plans, develops and implements operational procedures (Service Area Plans and Policies and Procedures) for health and nutrition services for children and families in accordance with performance standards as needs Coordinates and monitors Health and Nutrition referrals with the Registered Dietician and other health consultants
Coordinates volunteer program, including recruitment and training of volunteers
Reviews Service Area Plans and Policies and Procedures yearly and updates plans and policies as needed
Oversees and coordinates health screening with developmental and mental health screening of children in conjunction with Education and Disabilities/Mental Health Manager and monitors delivery of services to determine compliance
Maintains and updates each month heath monitoring and tracking tools for children enrolled in the program
Conducts monthly Heath and Nutrition support meetings with parent coaches
Provides ongoing consultation and training on parental services component of the program to home visiting staff
Coordinates and plans the quarterly Health Services Advisory Committee in conjunction with the Mental Health/Disabilities Specialist and Program Director
Provides leadership and direction for community linkages to locate and access resources for families in the areas of nutrition and health
Assists in the design and implementation of program enrichment activities that will benefit Early Head Start families
Monitors the collection and analysis of program data and reports the use of data to Program Director
Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor
Position Requirements:
B.A degree in health and human services, public health, health education or related field.
At least 2 years of experience in pediatric health education.
Training and experience in areas that include the theories and principle of child growth and development, early childhood education, particularly infant and toddlers
Previous experience providing direct services to low-income families and with persons of varied experience and ethnic backgrounds
Previous experience working with infant and toddlers with health needs and knowledge of Early Head Start services highly desirable
Must have working knowledge of public health, health and nutrition services for children birth to three and expecting mothers
Must have demonstrated managerial skills, typically resulting from several years of increasing responsibilities, preferably in a child care of social service settings
Must be able to train diverse staff, must have good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team.
