Tom & Emily Kaplan
Co-Owners, Hugo’s Restaurants

Growing up all over Los Angeles, including Pacoima, Eddie has been instrumental in helping El Nido build our Training Kitchen for our Youth Culinary Project in Pacoima. Eddie graciously donated extensive professional resources, along with the time and expertise of his professional staff, every step of the way from the architectural designing of the kitchen and the inception to securing the permits and beyond. Tom and Emily Kaplan have long been the guiding light and inspiration for planting the seed of our community garden, our culinary program, training kitchen, future community café, and job training program located at our Pacoima site.  They have provided their expertise in hospitality, management, entrepreneurship, horticulture, and beyond, and rolled up their sleeves to transform a dirt corridor into El Nido’s flourishing garden.
